DC to DC Converter 12V to 9V

DC to DC Converter 12V to 9V diagram

This is the circuit diagram of DC to DC converter, converts a 12V input to 9V output. The voltage output stabilized by Z1 dioda zener, while the ECG184 is used to boost the output current.

Components List:
R1 = 560 ohm
C1 = 1000uF/40V, Electrolytic
C2 = 10uF/25V, Electrolytic
C3 = 330nF, Ceramic
Z1 = 9.1V, 1watt zener
Q1 = ECG184, NTE184

Circuit Notes:
To achieve a more precise output voltage, replace R1 with a 1K ohm potentiometer and zener diode Z1 with 10V. A heatsink for Q1 is optional but highly recommended. You can replace Q1 for a more robust type to get more output amps depending on your needs. This is a simple and easy circuit to power your 9 volt cassette recorder and other stuff.

About Inverter
An inverter is an power electronic device that converts direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC); the converted AC can be at any required voltage and frequency with the use of appropriate transformers, switching, and control circuits. Solid-state inverters have no moving parts and are used in a wide range of applications, from small switching power supplies in computers, to large electric utility high-voltage direct current applications that transport bulk power. Inverters are usually used to supply AC power from DC sources such as solar panels or batteries. It will be useful for emergency electric source
